OK so the previous two posts have the most common HTML tags, including the deprecated <b>, <i>, and <u> tags (and that there is an example of the shiny, new <code> tag). Let's try out some of the rarer, less-used tags, starting with....

An H1 heading introducing a Definition List

Dweeb
young excitable person who may mature
into a Nerd or Geek

Hacker
a clever programmer

Nerd
technically bright but socially inept person

OK, truthfully, H1 isn't rare, but I needed something to head off the series of header tags.

An H2 heading for... a quote!

If a hen and a half lays an egg and a half in a day and a half, how many pancakes does it take to shingle a doghouse?

I've never actually seen the <q> tag in use, but hey! there's a first time for everything. Something to note about this tag: it adds the quotation marks automatically (they can be styled in the CSS).

An H3 heading for a table

Tables are semi-common, but they have fallen out of favor (for various reasons) and have in most cases been replaced with divs. (If that means absolutely nothing to you, don't worry.)

Cell 1 Cell 2 Long Cell 3 + 4 Cell 5
A B + C! D E
H I J K L
M + N + O + P + Q
R S + T + U V
W X Y Z...

An H4 heading for a... bunch of strange markup tags

An H5 heading to clarify: no really, I've never actually seen any of these used.

First a del tag to show deleted text. Maybe it's supposed to work like the deprecated <s> strikethrough tag?

Next up is it's exact opposite, the ins tag for inserted text!

Then kbd for keyboard text, which might be something like the old tt for typewriter (tele-typewriter) text tag, that's fallen out of style with the advent of the code tag for showing code.

Ha ha, I just used three weird markups in one sentence. Oh and there's also the samp tag for sample computer code; what other kind of code is there that you'd be posting? Of course there's subscripting and superscripting, but they probably don't need too much styling.

The address tag is
useful for giving addresses maybe? Why is this a tag?
Big for big text? I suppose the next thing to be deprecated are the headers, then.

And that's probably it.
